What Do Your Clients Think of You?

Part 1

We all have websites that tell the whole world how good we are.

But do we LISTEN to our prospects & clients?

No! Mostly, we’re too busy SELLING. Or trying to.

As I keep harping on, most people have a website with a terrible conversion rate because their website simply lists what they do (rather than giving the information that clients want) and the only call to action is usually - “Call us” or “Email us” or "Buy". It’s rubbish marketing.

Marketing is communication.

Communication is listening.

So Turn your Website into a “Listening Post”.

When someone leaves your site - you’ll NEVER know what they would have wanted. Unlike like a bricks ‘n mortar shop, when you could ask them!

But now we can ask online as well, with some clever software that adds a ‘widget’ to your website and asks people for feedback.

This small, discreet little box sits in the corner of your website and ask people to leave feedback - which a percentage of visitors will.

This way you can find out what your visitors actually want and what they like and what they don't like. Consequently, you can optimise your website to give it to them. It a virtuous circle.

You can be more "inquisitive" with some visitors (especially if you have paid for them via Pay per Click for example) that visit your website and leave very quickly, by setting up an exit survey.

This opens up a window that explicitly asks what they are looking for and why they are leaving so quickly.

The MKLINK Feedback widget you can turn your website and emails into a “listening post”.
It can also track where your visitors come from and so when they leave feedback, you can see which source(e.g. search engine) they used and which key-phrase as well.

The cost of a fully customisable website feedback widget is £95 setup and then £19.95 per month. But that's only half the story...

Part 2

It's important that you to know what your visitors think of you.

But it is essential that your visitors know what your customers think of you !!!

(Anyone who uses Ebay knows the value of having a decent feedback score)

Your visitors are much, much, much more influenced by other people's opinion of your company than whatever you say about yourself.

That's why sites like Amazon and TripAdvisor do so well - because they enable third party feedback. It's also why I have my testimonials available to see at http://mklink.com/training/testimonials.php

So the second part of the equation is to make sure that everyone who has bought from you is asked to complete a client feedback form.

This way, you can quickly respond to any complaints or criticisms and just as importantly, the rest of the world can see that you are a diligent company that cares about it's clients.

A Note about 'Bad' Feedback
It's not terribly important if, from time to time you get a less than excellent rating. Like Ebay for example, a positive feedback 99.5% from someone who has sold hundreds of items shows that they're a good seller - to 99.5% of their clients!

What is important however is how you deal with criticism. If you are seen to respond and take positive action, then a bit of negative feedback occasionally can actually serve to give your site credibility.

This is why the client feedback is displayed on a 3rd party MKLINK site, not your own site - because we are impartial and so your visitors will know that the feedback is genuine and not worthless.

Your site will display a verification “badge” that links to it

Please note that - unlike the website feedback widget - only actual customers can give feedback, thus eliminating competitors and other undesirable parties leaving unhelpful feedback.
