Google's New Optimizer Tool
mkLINK Internet Marketing Tips(12 April 2007)

The New Google Optimizer Tool!

At last!

Let Google take the guesswork out of optimizing your website.

Now, I don't mean Search engine optimizing it
- I mean optimizing it for conversion.

The object of paid for traffic is to drive quality traffic to your website.
A conversion can be a sales, a lead, an email signup a download etc.

I recently gave some advice about split testing.
This is where you run 2 versions of the same ad, website
or landing page.

Well,Google now allows you to run Multivariate Analysis.

Don't panic! Basically, it's split testing on steroids! Don't worry
about the maths - Google does all the hard work for you.

This means you can optimize your website and get the highest
conversion rate in a fraction of the time - saving you
loads of hassle.

How does it work?
Well, I won't bore you with the theory - you can look that
up at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multivariate_analysis

Suffice to say, a typical web page has several(important)
components - Headline, sales text, image(s), prices etc

Google now allows you to run various permutations of these
elements and graphically shows you which combination produces
the best results!

i.e. You can test & measure each element of the website rapidly.

It's easy...

In a Nutshell, this is what you do :

1) Choose which page & which Sections to test.
2) Add Google's code to the different elements on your site
3) Create section alternatives (i.e. different copy, prices, images, guarantees etc)
4) Analyse your results
5) Go down the pub.

Admittedly, the last one is optional.

If you aren't optimizing your website for conversion - or worse still -
not even monitoring your conversion, then you will almost certainly
be wasting most of your marketing budget.

If your car wasn't running properly - you wouldn't try and go
further or faster by simply using more fuel- surely you'd fix the engine?

It's no different with your website. You've already paid
(one way or another) to get people to your website-all you need to do is
get more of them to take action.

Now there's now excuse as Google's built in tool does all the
work for you!

You have to register to use this new tool.
( You should get your account set-up within 2 days)

The Good news - there's no charge for using Google's New Tool!
